Lepaine McHenry

Lepaine Sharp-McHenry has been a RN for 27 years and represents Long Term Care nurses. She completed an Associate of Science in Nursing at Southern Arkansas University, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Arkansas and a Masters of Science with a Major in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma. She completed her studies as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. She has worked in Long Term Care, Medical/Surgical, and Psychiatric Mental Health Settings. She holds certification as a LTC Nurse Administrator and is a licensed nursing home administrator. She serves as an adjunct faculty member at Regis University Department of Nursing Graduate Program. Married and the mother of three, she enjoys Bible studies, traveling, shopping, reading, and sports.

Kathy Hicks, RN

Kathy Hicks Kathy Hicks, RN CCP, is a resident of Rogers. She has over 40 years experience in nursing that include: working in a nursing home, clinic, teaching, and many different areas in the hospital setting. Hicks graduated with a Diploma in Nursing from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is the Compliance Auditor at Northwest Health System in Springdale. Ms. Hicks is married and has two adult children and three grandchildren. Her hobbies include painting and reading.

Peggy Morgan, LPN

Peggy Morgan Peggy Morgan, LPN, is a resident of Osceola and graduate of Cotton Boll Vo-Tech School of Practical Nursing. She has been a LPN for 30 years. Her experience includes working in Medical/Surgical, Labor and Delivery, and has worked as an office nurse. Peggy is currently working at the Mississippi County Health Unit in the clinic setting. She has worked for the Health Dept. for 19 years. Ms. Morgan is married and has three daughters and two grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoys gardening and decorating for the holidays.
Cassandra Harvey, RN

Cassandra Harvey Cassandra Harvey, RN, is currently serving her first term on the ASBN. She is employed as a school nurse with the Brinkley Schools. Ms. Harvey is a graduate of East Arkansas Community College. She is married and has two daughters. Ms. Harvey enjoys playing the piano, bowling, and going to high school football and basketball games.
Dr. Cynthia Burroughs
Little Rock

Cynthia Burroughs Cynthia Burroughs is the consumer representative on the ASBN. She is an associate professor of biology at Philander Smith College in Little Rock. Burroughs earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Talladega College in Talladega, Ala., and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in endocrinology from the University of California at Berkeley. She has received numerous honors including the Distinguished Service Award from the National Center for Toxicological Research and the Blue Heron Award from Audubon Arkansas. Burroughs is married and has two children.
Darlene Byrd, APN
Cabot, AR
Darlene Byrd B. Darlene Byrd, APN, a resident of Cabot, holds certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has 15 years experience in nursing with the last nine years as an APN providing primary care health services. Currently she is the sole proprietor of her corporation providing locum tenes services across Arkansas. Other nursing experience includes: home health, burn/trauma/surgical critical care, and director of mobile health care clinic. She holds a BA from Ouachita Baptist University, a BSN, and MNSc, from UAMS College of Nursing. Her first career included being a public school teacher in secondary math. Her spare time is spent working on Health Policy issues affecting Advanced Practice Nurses, tending to her vegetable garden and playing golf.
Gladwin Connell
Little Rock
Gladwin Connell Gladwin Connell is the consumer representative of the older population on the Board. He is a retired United Methodist minister and previously served as pastor of churches in El Dorado, Malvern and Little Rock. Connell has served in numerous capacities on various boards and committees including the Hendrix College Board of Trustees and previously as president of the West Arkansas Area Agency on Aging. He also served as president of the Good Shepherd Ecumenical Retirement Center in Little Rock. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Hendrix College, a master of theological studies degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a doctor of ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
Robert Currie, LPTN
Little Rock, AR
Robert Currie Robert Currie is employed as a LPTN in the forensic unit of the Arkansas State Hospital where he has been employed for 26 years. Mr. Currie resides in Little Rock. He is married and the proud father of six children and three grandchildren. He is an active member of his church chorus, combined choir and Sunday School. Mr. Currie enjoys sports, especially basketball.
Lori Eakin, LPN
Smackover
Lori Eakin Lori Eakin is an LPN employed by the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. She has 25 years of experience in nursing having the opportunities of serving as a school nurse, surgical scrub nurse, admissions/scheduling nurse and at present in case management. She lives in Smackover and enjoys gardening, interior design and spending time with family. She is married with a son, daughter, son-in-law and one grandchild.
Clevesta Flannigan, LPN Camden, Arkansas Clevesta Flannigan Ms. Clevesta Flannigan is an LPN that resides in Camden. She graduated from SAU Tech in Camden and is employed by Ouachita County Medical Center. She has been in the field of nursing for 5 years. Flannigan says, “I really enjoy serving the needs of others.” She has two children.
Brenda Murphree, RN
El Dorado
Brenda Murphree Brenda Murphree is a registered nurse and is the representative of associate degree nurses on the ASBN. She received her associate degree in nursing from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. Murphree is a nursing instructor at South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado. Previously she has served patients in a wide range of areas such as surgery, case management, orthopedics and as an office nurse. She is married to Jeff Murphree and has one daughter and one granddaughter.
Stephanie Rockett, RN
Bryant
Stephanie Rockett Stephanie Rockett has served on the ASBN since 2004 in the baccalaureate or higher degree position. She is licensed as a registered nurse and an APN. Rockett works for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in the department of Pediatric Congenital and Cardiothoracic Surgery. She holds certification from the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Her bachelor’s degree in nursing was earned from the University of Central Arkansas and her master’s degree from UAMS. Rockett resides in Bryant and enjoys traveling, gardening, reading and watching sports.
Doris Scroggin, RN
Vilonia
Doris Scroggin Doris Scroggin is a registered nurse and a graduate of St. Edward Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Smith. Scroggin works in the nursing pool at Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute. She has served as a nurse in the medical/surgical unit, public health, emergency room, operating room, home health and oncology. Previously she was an emergency medical technician and licensed practical nurse instructor.
